| C O N S T R U C T i O N Artist Panels consist of  pressed fiberboard made from MDF where both sides are provided with a hard white smooth foil. The foil is durable and prevents excessive absorption of surface paint, resulting in a uniform and smooth finish with less paint. It also prevents the pigmented glue in the wood from seeping back into your painting.
The ready-to-paint foil does not have to be primed and is highly scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, shock-resistant and colored through-and-through. Artists are welcome to add a gesso layer before painting. however it is not necessary to do so.
All cut edges are treated and sealed with a black gesso to prevent boards from expanding due to - exposure to moisture.
For an even smoother finish, gesso can be applied with a brush, roller or sprayed.

Production process MDF lacquer film ( International Plywood )
"MDF paint foil is manufactured in a continuous process (Continuous Pressed Laminate CPL) The per-impregnated support is rolled from a roll on the pre-glued plate at a temperature of about 185 degrees C (hot pressing), so that curing of the glue takes place.
The plate is square-edged, the film has excellent adhesion and gives excellent paint adhesion. The paint foil is applied through hot pressing to prevent any chance of delamination.
